1 ( 15 oz ) Can chickpeas
1/4 C fresh lemon juice
1/4 C well stirred Tahini
1 Tbsp minced garlic & shallots
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 C Gindo's Green
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
Salt to taste
2 to 3 Tbsp water
1. In a food processor combine tahini, lemon juice, and Gindo's Green, process for 1 minute. Scrape the sides and bottom and process for additional 30 seconds.
2. Add olive oil, minced garlic & shallot and 1/2 tsp of sea salt to the whipped tahini. Process for 30 seconds, scrape sides and bottom and process for additional 30 seconds.
3. Open, drain, and rinse chickpeas. Add half of the chickpeas and turmeric to the whipped tahini and process for 1 minute. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl, add remaining chickpeas and process until thick and smooth ( 1 to 2 minutes ).
4. Hummus might be to thick. To fix this turn on processor and slowly add 2 to 3 Tbsp of water until you reach desired consistency. Dash with powdered sumac or smoked paprika and enjoy!
