When our friends Pamela and Josh reached out to us back in 2014 to tell us they were opening a new breakfast concept in Long Beach, CA, we were really excited for them.
The first time we visited The Breakfast Bar, we knew from the moment we walked in that they had something special. Their bartending sense of hospitality combined with family recipes from over the years and a killer beer list made us feel right at home.
It's no wonder that they've become one of the best brunch spots in Long Beach! Did we mention they have an amazing patio?
From Gindo's favorite - "Love-Lee Chicken and Waffle Sticks" featuring country fried chicken with sausage gravy and served with a side of salted butter syrup, to Mary's favorite - Uncle Marcee's Omelet Casserole which has been passed down for three generations in Pamela's family, the menu has the perfect something for everyone.
We should also mention that Gindo's hot sauces are found not only on the tables, but also in a few signature dishes, like the hollandaise sauce in the Eggs Noni and Eggs Papi. And of course, the Bloody Mary's.
If you're a local, we hope you're already familiar with this gem, but if you're traveling to Long Beach you should absolutely add this place to your brunch list!
Visit their website here, or follow them on Facebook and Instagram for more info!

This place is awesome, and has amazing food. My wife and I came to The Breakfast Bar for a brunch after stepping off a cruiseship. We each ordered Uncle Marcee’s Omelet Casserole (would recommend to anyone) and our waiter brought out three bottles of Gindo’s hot sauces with our meals – Original, Jalapeno Poblano, and Honey Habanero. He said if we like hot sauce, we have to try each, and that his personal preference was “the red one.” We tried each and were instantly hooked, and had to agree that the Original was our favorite as well.
I ordered a bottle of each as soon as we got back home to Michigan. Anytime we had friends/family over for meals we’d tell them “you gotta try these sauces.” I put a care package of the three flavors together as a gift in our family’s white elephant Christmas gift exchange that year and they were a hit. We found that we were going through the sauces fast though.. using them on anything from breakfast foods, pizzas, wings, sandwiches, tacos, or even just as cracker toppers.
Just wanted to share this story, and thank The Breakfast Bar for bringing Gindo’s to our table that morning! By far the best hot sauces we’ve ever had! Thank you!
