Craft Urban gives Geneva a taste of Chicago!
As a couple who spent years "living the dream" in one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the country before settling down in the quiet suburbs of Chicago with our two young girls, we were intrigued when we heard some city guys were opening an urban style restaurant in our area.
From the moment we stepped into Craft Urban late one Friday night, we were greeted by Bernie, Francisco and Andrew like we were old friends. In no time, we had a craft cocktail for him, a can of craft beer for her, and two orders of the best tasting ramen we've had since leaving the city.
Every detail of this place is a delight: from the hand-painted mural on the wall to the high ceilings with exposed brick walls, the large dining room with wood tables and chairs, the white leather bar stools and wood bar top, and even the unexpected comic book-styled bathrooms. Plus they have entertainment for the little ones in the form of rubix cubes and etch a sketches.
One of the coolest things about this place is their commitment to sourcing local ingredients, which is of course where Gindo's fits in. We're proud to featured in several of their menu items, including all four of the dishes pictured here.
Delicious food, tasty drinks, stellar customer service, and an ambiance that is both unpretentious and inviting. These guys are really tugging on our city-folk-at-heart-now-parents-living-in-the-suburbs-who-still-want-good-food-and-drink-without-the-commute heartstrings.
Don't just take our word for it. Check out this awesome write-up they received in the Chicago Tribune...
