Smitty's On the Corner was one of Gindo's first accounts when we relocated to the Midwest. Gindo first met Steve "Smitty" and Ann while bartending at a local bar up the street, and they have been supporting us ever since.
We just love that they are all about family. Our daughter still talks about the time her daddy walked her up from the St. Charles Farmers Market to have a sandwich prepared by Mr. and Mrs. Smitty. We highly recommend you stop in for lunch or a sweet ice cream treat while taking a ride down the bike bath.
Smitty's is located in the heart of downtown St. Charles right by the Fox River.
Having to choose which sandwich to get is so difficult. Since they are using all the freshest ingredients and fresh locally baked bread there is never a bad choice. Take this sandwich special, a southwestern turkey melt with turkey, bacon, cheddar, ranch and Gindo's Original Fresh & Spicy hot sauce on grilled sourdough. Yum!
You can always find the owner behind the counter preparing your meals or catch them shopping at the local farmers markets in the summer. Next time you're in the area, definitely check them out!
